How to welcome what's new
A waterfall of presence
Hello friends,
Those of you who read the Fifty-Fifty series know that my upbringing prepared me for constant change, and I’ve carried that into my adult life. From the outside, it might look like welcoming the new is easy for me. From the inside, it’s been more of a struggle than you might think.
Full presence required
Welcoming what’s new demands our full presence—the ability to listen to intuition, signals from the body, and the requirements of circumstances. Letting ourselves be inspired to act from the truth in our hearts, rather than from fear and separation, helps us keep up with the astonishing rate of change happening in the world today.
The never-ending practice of releasing assumptions, letting go of faulty beliefs, and trusting that the universe is looking out for us helps ensure that what we create is better than what came before. This magnificent journey of our souls can be experienced as a remembrance, as shown in this Flag Oracle card.
This is the first picture I took on the year-long hiking, sewing, and photography project that began in 2020 and would become the Flag Oracle in 2025. The card represents the first step of a soul journey. Following is the card’s invitation from the Flag Oracle Guidebook:
Remember how to do the thing that only you know how to do. Let yourself surrender so that you can remember what your soul knows.
Affirmations for welcoming what’s new for you
This week I’ve been using chakra affirmations to invite every part of my body to engage with what’s new. This practice allowed me to make a significant decision without the mental struggle that I would have had previously. I trust that something new will emerge in the space the decision created.
Sometimes we hold ourselves back from doing things we know we need to do because we’re afraid of the unknown part of ourselves that will emerge out of that new choice.
Use these affirmations to invite and befriend that new, yet-to-be-known part of you.
Crown: I welcome present-moment guidance from spirit in support of what is emerging for my soul’s evolution.
Third Eye: I invite myself to see all aspects of my life as if they are new. I welcome the insights this awareness provides.
Throat: I invite myself to express in ways that create new, harmonious opportunities for connection and growth.
Heart: I experience the love in my heart as if it is new, allowing its love to extend to all beings.
Solar plexus: I invite my actions support new creations from the heart.
Sacral center: I allow the emotions of joy and delight to to emerge from new choices.
Root: I witness how nature makes the world new in every moment. I see that I belong as part of the ever-renewing force of Earth’s evolution.
May new experiences nourish your soul this week.
Love,
Lee Ann
